abstract:Daniel Thompson (1935 – May 6, 2004) was a Cleveland poet, civil rights activist and advocate for the homeless. Thompson became the first Poet Laureate for Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
Daniel Benjamin, the head of counterterrorism at the time of the September attacks and Mr. Thompson's former boss, has said that the question of whether to deploy the team was posed early, and the State Department made the correct decision against sending it.
