In May 2004, Daniel Haber and Thomas Lynch, both of the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, published a paper in The New England Journal of Medicine showing that the tumors of eight of nine patients who had responded to Iressa had mutations in the genes for the EGFR protein.
But instead it has only underlined how little may have changed: Daniel Noa, Siemens' top anti-corruption official, has stepped down after only six months at the company, with little explanation given.
