abstract:Crossarchus is a genus of mongoose, commonly referred to as the kusimanse (often cusimanse), mangue, or dwarf mongoose. Of three subfamilies of Herpestidae (Herpestinae, Mungotinae and Galidiinae), the kusimanse is a member of Herpestinae or Mungotinae, which are small, highly social mongooses.
