abstract:The word cosca (pl. cosche in Italian and coschi in Sicilian) is a Sicilian word which refers to any plant – such as the artichoke or the thistle – whose spiny closely folded leaves symbolize the tightness of relationships between members of the Mafia.
Following the cancellation Cosca sent an email to its 60, 000 members urging them to "to put plans for travelling to Scotland in 2014 on hold" amid "confusion surrounding 2014".
