Non-point-source pollution in Er Hai lake arising from agricultural fertilizer, livestock -poultry cultivation and soil and water loss plays an important role in changing the water quality from oligotrophication to mesotrophication and further to eutropication. It is necessary to largely develop ecological agriculture, reduce the usage of fertilizer and pesticide, recycle the usage of organic manure, control pollution transferal, prevent non-point-source pollution on an overall basis.
