The Blue Devils topped Kentucky in the 1992 East Regional final on Christian Laettner's buzzer-beater in perhaps the greatest game and shot in the tournament's 75-year history.
But if you were to ask them their favorite team, they would reflexively bring up the "Unforgettables" the ragtag group of Rick Pitino-coached overachievers who infamously fell to Duke's ChristianLaettner 20 years ago.
This was the first time Pitino and Mike Krzyzewski had met in the regional finals since that 1992 classic that ended with Christian Laettner's improbable buzzer-beater, a game now considered one of the best in NCAA tournament history.
