Nationalist politician Changez Marri is running for a seat in the federal parliament, while his brother, Harbiyar Marri, leads the Baluch Liberation Army, a powerful armed group with around 3, 000 fighters, according to officials.
Taking the opportunity of the occasion, the Federal Minister of Science and Technology, Mir Changez Khan Jamali strongly recommended increasing the budget of Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) from 0.6% to 1% of GDP by year 2015, further taking it up to 2% by 2020.
