Certain approved respirators, such as those approved as a European or Australian/New Zealand “P1” respirator, are not considered equivalent to those specified in the CDC guidances. Therefore, 3M does not recommend “P1” respirator use in health care or other settings to reduce exposures to the virus that causes H1N1 influenza.
