abstract:The Central Arizona Project (CAP) is a 336 mi (541 km) diversion canal in Arizona in the United States. The aqueduct diverts water from the Colorado River from Lake Havasu City near Parker into central and southern Arizona.
California has not only been using Arizona's spare water for decades, but has also been keenly eyeing the water that remains. (And it may be that Arizona, having outlined this deal with Nevada, will pursue a similar one with California.) Besides, Arizona needs money to help run the troubled 336-mile CentralArizonaProject.
