It has 135 trails and 20 lifts spread across more than 3, 000-acres, renowned tree skiing for experts, plenty of cruisers for beginners and intermediates, even in-bounds sno-cat skiing, something very few resorts offer.
It counts five lifts and 59 runs (with more of both in the works) and is now the only resort in the world to offer lift, cat-, heli-, and backcountry skiing from the same village.
My daughters and I managed to rouse ourselves one afternoon after skiing at Moonlight Basin to go to the spa and one night to take a Sno-Cat ride two miles into the back country in the dark for an excellent dinner (tenderloin and mashed potatoes followed by chocolate fondue) in a big, heated yurt, courtesy of Moonlight Dinners.
