In addition to his solo albums, Gilmore records with the band The Flatlanders, which includes Gilmore's fellow West Texas musicians Joe Ely and ButchHancock.
Joe Ely is best known around these parts as one of the Flatlanders, the other two being ButchHancock, whom I first met in Terlinqua, Texas, another Texas cultural center (they have the annual chili cook-off), and Jimmie Dale Gilmore, whose voice is sweeter than sweet wine.
