abstract:Buccal administration refers to the pharmacological route of administration by which drugs diffuse into the blood through tissues of the buccal vestibule, the area inside the mouth between the lining of cheek (the buccal mucosa) and the teeth / gums. Certain medications are designed to be given bucally (as opposed to orally or sublingually).
