SandroBotticelli, a central figure, was not one of the artists who flung their paintings onto the fires, but he nevertheless fell under Savonarola's spell, as his later works clearly show.
Despite their robust modeling, they seem schematic, as do many of the images of young blondes that follow, paintings by such masters as Filippo Lippi, SandroBotticelli and the Pollaiuolo brothers, and suave marble busts by Desiderio da Settignano and Andrea del Verrocchio.
