The reason is because in baptism two ends were proposed: on the one hand, the destroying of the body of sin, that it may never ripen into death;
因为洗礼的目的有二：第一，使有罪的身体得以净化，以免以后结出死亡的果实；
And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness.
基督若在你们心里，身体就因罪而死，心灵却因义而活。
Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness.
也不要将你们的肢体献给罪作不义的器具。
