An assault that involvesthepresenceof a dangerous weapon is aggravated in form when the presence of the dangerous weapon is coupled with the intentto causebodilyinjury.
Figures obtained by BBC Wales through a Freedom of Information request indicate that during 2012, Dyfed-Powys officers issued 1, 206 cautions for violence including assault with intent to cause serious harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault with injury and child cruelty.
Roberts was found guilty in December of three counts of rape, four counts of burglary, two indecent assault charges, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm and one of serious sexual assault.
