I heard a sharp knock at the wooden door of my room. I suddenly noticed that the sun was already high above the sky. It was noontime and I was starving. Well, probably not as starving as Lawrence in prison, but I was quite hungry. My mother probably brought me something to eat. Before opening the door, I wished that she brought some delicious jam. I just loved that when eaten with bread. I stood up from my bed and opened the door, which made a slight creaking sound. It was my mother, all right, but to my disappointment there was no food in sight. Instead, she slapped me hard on the face for a reason I didn t know. She hit me so hard and it really hurt me. She had never slapped me that hard in my entire life. I could not believe what she did to me.
