Battle of Yancheng

• abstract: The Battle of Yancheng () took place in 1139 CE near modern day Luohe City in Henan Province, China between the main armies of the ruling Song Dynasty and Jurchen or Jin invaders from the north. The battle was the first major clash between the two sides and history records that under the leadership of General Yue Fei the Song won a decisive victory despite the superior numbers of the Jin.
