abstract:The BAE Systems Hawk is a British single-engine, advanced jet trainer aircraft. It was first flown at Dunsfold, Surrey, in 1974 as the Hawker Siddeley Hawk, and subsequently produced by its successor companies, British Aerospace and BAE Systems, respectively.
Losing the Indian deal would be a huge blow for BAESystems, which has warned that the future of its 3, 000-employee Hawk factory at Brough, East Yorkshire, is under review because of a shortage of orders.
