The muted, but warm glow of the candle slowly allowed Beth to remain her equilibrium and she watched Parthenia as she made herself ready for bed. She sat at a mirror, brushing her silky red hair, the candlelight reflected in her scarlet threads. As she brushed, the light reflected off each hair, and Beth thought that it looked very pretty, she could almost see sparks as she ran the comb through her tresses. Parthenia then got up from the mirror, and went to make her ablutions and freshen up.
