The Ranchers-Cattlemen Action Legal Fund lobbied against JBS before the antitrustcommittee of America's Senate, warning of price-gouging of farmers and anti-competitive behaviour, and got a sympathetic hearing.
The act, which continues to provoke controversy, will be reviewed by the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Antitrust, Business Rights and Competition.
Representatives Hyde and Jackson pressed this issue a step further in October, when they asked the House Judiciary Committee to look into possible antitrust violations at O'Hare.
