abstract:Anathem is a speculative fiction novel by Neal Stephenson, published in 2008. Major themes include the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics and the philosophical debate between Platonic realism and formalism.
Several of my all-time favorites are listed, including the Foundation trilogy, Anathem, and my all-time favorite sci-fi novel, The Stars My Destination.
But the plot moves so quickly and smoothly that I read it in a fraction of the time it took to complete his last novel, the slightly shorter (but much heavier) Anathem.
