Quseir Amra is a well-preserved desert castle which acted as both a fortress with a garrison and a residence of the Umayyad caliphs, built in the early 8th century.
The groups opposed to the deal - including Amra Bangali, Jana Jagaran and Jana Chetana - held a 24-hour strike in the plains near the Darjeeling hill region to protest against the deal.
Jordan is home to four World Heritage Sites: Petra, Quseir Amra, Um er-Rasas, Wadi Rum Protected Area, as well as the Cultural Space of the Bedu in Petra and Wadi Rum, inscribed on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
