Abstract: Advertising takes many forms, but in most of them language is of crucial importance. Advertising English, an applied language which is utterly different from literature or news report, has become one of the contemporary English varieties and develops its own register that requires the special treatment. Under the guide of simplicity, advertising English is subtle and carefully crafted. This paper is designed to make statements on the linguistic features of advertising English.
