The frame charts of hardware structure and work flow of Loran-C magnetic antenna were introduced. It is validated that magnetic antenna is better than electric antenna in the aspects of SNR, stability of time difference and unlocked circumstance via outfield experiment. Compared with electric antenna, the magnetic antenna does well in receiving Loran-C signal, restraining disturbance, advancing SNR, achieving higher precision of time difference measuring,so the time reference can be adjusted more accurately, more reliable positioning result can be obtained and the utilization rate of positioning system is improved.
