Published on Monday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the study was written bya group of seven academicsfrom Harvard, Stanford and the University of California at San Diego who work in the fields of psychology, business and public policy.
Data gathering and number crunching for the two-year study was done by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a big government contractor, with input fromacademics and oil companies like Shell, BP, Marathon Energy.
