龙头峪自然风景区位于森林公园的东北部，西边和古洞坡自然风景区相连，为一南北走向的山谷，最高点约海拔900米。面积7 平方公里左右。区内有村间公路（水泥路面）与108国道连接，向西通古洞坡自然风景区。 景区山谷上部有一象形石，状似“龙头”，是因常年流水，石灰在水中积留而成。雨季常有一股山泉从龙头流出，得名“龙头水”。干旱季节虽龙头断流，仍有山泉存留附近石洞，从未干涸。
