黄原酸盐即黄药,为黄色粉末固状,有刺激性气味有毒,点火燃烧,易受水潮解,性质不稳定,遇盐加速分解,易溶于水和丙酮和醇中。对人和动物的肝脏、肾脏和神经系统造成损伤。黄药由Keller 发明于20 世纪20 年代。黄药的发明,对选矿技术进步起到了极大的推动作用,各种黄药均可作为泡沫浮选的捕收剂,且在这一领域的用量最大。乙基钠黄药和乙基钾黄药还可用作湿法冶金沉淀剂、医药中间体以及在农业上用于作物的干燥,在谷物收获前的适当时期喷施,可迅速降低其皮壳的水分含量,便于脱粒。
