驱动机（ driving machine） 由减速器与制动器组成的自动扶梯动力机械。电动机的动力经减速器、驱动链传递到梯级链链轮以带动梯级和扶手带。一般选用蜗轮减速机，近年来有选用效率较好的斜齿轮或行星减速器的。一般安装在上部桁架（称端部驱动方式）；也有安装在桁架中部（倾斜部）的单个或多个驱动机的中间驱动方式。
