食蚜蝇，双翅目(Diptera)食蚜蝇科(Syrphidae)昆虫。成虫体小型到大型。体宽或纤细，体色单一暗色或常具黄、橙、灰白等鲜艳色彩的斑纹，某些种类则有蓝、绿、铜等金属色，外观似蜂。头部大。雄性眼合生，雌性眼离生，也有两性均离生。斜斑鼓额食蚜蝇(Scaeva pyrastri)卵一般产在蚜群中的为白色，长形，卵壳具网状饰纹。
