风冷发动机，是以空气作为冷却介质的发动机。它在气缸及缸盖的外壁铸造出一些散热片，并用冷却风扇使空气高速吹过散热片表面，带走发动机散出的热量, 使发动机冷却。风冷发动机是发动机的一种，具有结构简单，质量轻等特点。此发动机维护使用方便，对气候变化适应性强，起动快，不需要散热器等优点，因而被摩托车广泛采用。
