鞭毛藻（dinoflagellate），藻类，水下磷火微生物，介乎动植物之间的生物，是金藻门、裸藻门、隐藻门、甲藻门和绿藻门团藻目中具鞭毛藻类的统称。 生长在海水或淡水中，有的有叶绿素。细胞有多种形状，都有鞭毛做运动器官，鞭毛通常是两根，最多八根。用细胞分裂法繁殖。多数种类细胞壁较薄或不具细胞壁，有的（甲藻）虽有壁但不完整。
