弗洛伊德在分析梦的改装变形时，把梦分为显梦和隐梦。对梦的解释并不是就其对梦的表面内容作解释，而是探查梦里头所隐藏的思想内容。显梦是指说出来的未经分析的梦，而隐梦是指其背后隐含的意义由分析联想得到。显梦和隐梦好像猜谜语一样，谜面是显梦，谜底是隐梦。释梦就是要猜破谜底，谜面只提供线索。如果把显梦和隐梦对照着进行研究，不难发现梦仍是愿望的变形满足。
人没有是正对于勤惰--恰好相正，人思争您信赖--勤惰并没有能禁止人们真隐梦思。
