镍污染是由镍及其化合物所引起的环境污染。镍在地壳中的平均丰度为75ppm,在微量元素中是含量比较丰富的元素。它有很强的亲硫性，主要以硫化镍矿和氧化镍矿的形态存在，在铁、钴、铜和一些稀土矿中，往往有镍共生。全世界每年镍的迁移状况是：岩石风化量为320 000吨，河流输送量为19 000吨,开采量为560 000吨，矿物燃料燃烧排放5 600吨。目前认为镍对环境只是一种潜在的危害物。工业上大部分镍用于制造不锈钢和抗腐蚀合金，并广泛用于镀镍、铸币、制造催化剂和玻璃陶瓷等。
