铜藻是中国暖温带海域浅海区海藻场的主要连片大型褐藻物种。拉丁学名:Sargassum horneri。藻株高大,枝叶繁茂,高0.5~1米,可达7米。主枝圆柱形,下部有数条纵走浅沟,直径1.5~3毫米。互生、对生分枝,吟片披针形,中肋及顶,锯齿深裂。柄细长。气囊圆柱形,长0.5~1厘米,直径2~3毫米,两端尖细,冠吟羽裂, 中肋及顶,固着器裂瓣状。
