近似数(approximate number)是指与准确数相近的一个数。 其中，准确数即这个数的最原始数据，没有经过约分、化简、或者四舍五入等任何运算之前的表达方法。近似数即经过四舍五入、进一法或者去尾法等方法得到的一个与原始数据相差不大的一个数。如：我国的人口无法计算准确数目，但是可以说出一个近似数，比如说我国人口有13亿，13亿就是一个近似数。
