轻质砖一般就是指发泡砖，正常室内隔墙都是用这种砖，有效减小楼面负重，而隔音效果又不错。强度制品选用优质板状刚玉、莫来石为骨料，以硅线石复合为基质，另添特种添加剂和少量稀土氧化物混炼，经高压成型、高温烧成。普通轻质隔热耐火砖生产的材质有粘土质、高铝质高强漂珠砖，低铁莫来石、高铝聚轻隔热耐火砖，硅藻土隔热耐火砖。
