转换数 turnover number 亦称代谢转换数。是酶活性的一种表示法。是瓦勃（O．H．Warburg）提出的，其定义为代表单位时间内每个酶分子将底物分子转换成产物的最大值。例如，脲酶可得到46万的数值。由于酶的一个分子中在具有数个活性中心时此定义就变得含糊，因此国际生物化学联合会建议使用分子活性或催化中心活性，这样比较更为精确。如果已知酶的分子量，则单位为1／分钟（=底物微克分子／分钟／酶微克分子） 酶的催化效率可用酶的转换数表示。在酶浓度一定，底物浓度大大大于酶浓度[Et]情况下，酶对特定底物的最大反应速度（Wmax）也是一个常数。此时Vmax = K3[Et]。K3表示酶被底物完全饱和时，每单位时间内、每个酶分子所能转化底物的分子数，称为转换数（turnover numbe TN），也称为催化常数kcat。它相当于一旦底物-酶中间物形成后，酶将底物转化为产物的效率，Kcat值愈大表示酶的催化效率愈高。
