利用30～300 兆赫波段的无线电波传输信息的通信。由于超短波的波长在 1～10米之间，所以也称米波通信，主要依靠地波传播和空间波视距传播。整个超短波的频带宽度有 270兆赫，是短波频带宽度的10倍。由于频带较宽，因而被广泛应用于电视、调频广播、雷达探测、移动通信、军事通信等领域。
针对超短波通信，提出WDTP协议，可减小数据通信误码率。
