血小板是血液中的一种细胞，也是血细胞中最小的一种，平均直径只有2～4微米。由于它的形状呈两面微凹、椭圆形或圆盘形，所以被称为血小板。血小板是从骨髓巨核细胞的细胞质脱落之片段所形成的。当我们受伤或者其他的原因引起血管破损的时候，大量血小板会马上聚集在血管破损处，聚集成团，形成血栓，堵在血管裂口的地方；另外，血小板还会释放出促使血管收缩和血液凝固的物质，防止血液从破损的地方流出。血小板压积（PCT）是血小板平均体积（MPV）与血小板计数（PLT）的乘积。临床上做血小板平均体积（MPV）和血小板分布宽度（PDW）测定，PCT受到血小板平均体积（MPV）和血小板分布宽度（PDW）的影响。
