蔓越莓又称蔓越橘，是杜鹃花科越橘属（Vacinium macrocarpon） 的常绿小灌木矮蔓藤植物，整体看起来很像鹤，花朵就像鹤头和嘴，因此蔓越莓又称“鹤莓”。它的果实是长2～5 cm的卵圆形浆果，由白色变深红色，吃起来有重酸微甜的口感。 主要生长在北半球的凉爽地带酸性泥炭土壤中，与康科特葡萄和蓝莓并称为北美传统三大水果。蔓越莓具有高水分、低热量、高纤维、多矿物质的特点因此备受人们青睐。
