苏州桥位于闽侯县南通镇苏坂村北面，民国18年(1929年)，萨镇冰募资所建。南北走向，钢筋水泥混合孤形桥。桥长88.6米，桥面宽约5米，中间为车道，两旁为高出10厘米的行人道。三墩、船形，骊水四道，等跨，两旁置桥栏。桥为钢筋混凝土结构，是当时福州地区除万寿桥之外的第二大跨梁式大桥。

Learning from the bridges of the great water town of ZhuJiaJiao, or those from the delicate gardens in Suzhou, we decided to link both sides of the 50 meters wide river with a bent path.
