自整角机是利用自整步特性将转角变为交流电压或由交流电压变为转角的感应式微型电机，在伺服系统中被用作测量角度的位移传感器。自整角机还可用以实现角度信号的远距离传输、变换、接收和指示。两台或多台电机通过电路的联系，使机械上互不相连的两根或多根转轴自动地保持相同的转角变化，或同步旋转。电机的这种性能称为自整步特性。在伺服系统中，产生信号一方所用的自整角机称为发送机，接收信号一方所用自整角机称为接收机。自整角机广泛应用于冶金、航海等位置和方位同步指示系统和火炮、雷达等伺服系统中。
