肾小囊”是“肾单位”的一个组成部分，两者可分而不可离。血液通过“肾动脉”进入肾脏，再经过“入球小动脉”进入肾小球，在“有效滤过压”的推动下，血液中除了蛋白和血细胞等大分子物质以外，其它全部成份通过“肾小球滤过膜”进入肾小囊，形成原尿。这一过程在生理学上称为“肾小球的滤过作用”。肾小囊向外移行形成“肾小管”
