聚乙烯咔唑无色透明。比重1.19。耐高温(马丁氏150~ 170℃;维卡氏200℃)。玻璃化温度65℃。电绝缘性良好,介电强度2000伏/密耳。吸水性<0.1% (4天计)。用于高频电子元件上。耐水、盐、碱液到180℃,不溶于酯、醇、酮、四氯化碳和链烃,但溶于芳烃、氯化链烃、氯苯及氯甲烷溶液作浸渍漆。在石油醚及环己酮中能溶胀。单体有毒,不宜触及皮肤,结晶单体熔点65~67°C,在空气中能自聚。在350°C下,可注射成型。
