翟公，西汉邽县（今临渭区）人。汉武帝元光五年到元朔二年（前130年—前127年）任廷尉，宾客盈门；被贬后，门庭冷落；后复职，宾客又欲前往。翟公于是在大门张贴告示说：“一死一生，乃知交情。一贫一富，乃知交态。一贵一贱，交情乃见。"
再到后来，翟公恢复了官职，很多人又想来他家拜访。
