罗汉鱼也称为彩鲷、花罗汉等，学名Cichlasoma spp.，英文名 Rajsh Cichlasoma。是马来西亚水族业者利用南美洲丽鱼科多个种类经过不断杂交选育、于 1996 年培育出的一类全新观赏鱼品种，因其头部隆起似罗汉而得名。 罗汉鱼在生物分类学上属于脊索动物门、硬骨鱼纲、鲈形目、慈鲷科、慈鲷属。该鱼体型魁梧，头顶大鼓包，短身高背，花纹秀丽，具有鲜艳夺目的色彩，且色彩变化丰富，具有很高的观赏价值，受到人们的广泛喜爱。
