上部结构由两端简单支承在墩台上的主要承重 梁组成的桥梁。简支梁是静定结构,相邻各跨单独受 力,结构受力比较单纯,不受支座变位等影响,适用 于各种地质情况,构造也较简单,容易做成标准化、 装配化构件,制造、安装都较方便,是一种采用最广 泛的梁式桥。但简支梁的跨中弯矩将随跨径增大而 急剧增大,因而大跨径时显得不经济。
