昆虫名，为鞘翅目，象虫科。分布在北起黑龙江，南至广东、海南，西抵陕西、甘肃、四川和云南，东达沿海各地和台湾。寄主于稻，瓜类、番茄、大豆、棉花，成虫偶食麦类、玉米、和油菜等。成虫以管状喙咬食秧苗茎叶，被害心叶抽出后，轻的呈现一横排小孔，重的秧叶折断，飘浮水面。幼虫食害稻株幼嫩须根，致叶尖发黄，生长不良。严重时不能抽穗，或造成秕谷，甚至成片枯死。
