稀土处理钢(rare earth streated steel)是加入适量稀土元素以改变其组织和性能的钢。稀土元素包括周期表中第Ⅳ周期的钪,第V周期的钇和第Ⅵ周期的镧族元素镧、铈、镨、钕等总共17个元素。这些元素具有相似的电子层结构,在外面的d和s层都有3个价电子,因而它们有相似的化学、物理性质,且在矿石中往往是共生的,提炼时不易分离。在冶金工业中应用也常为混合稀土金属。
