神经信号是一种电信号，其传导速度极快，信号在神经上传递时表现为电位变化，但在胞体间传递时却有不同的介质。产生不同的介质是因为，电冲动打开了电压门通道，使得末端中的一些化学物质释放，被相邻神经元的受体结合，打开这个神经元的配体门控通道，有转变为电冲动。
